Welcome to meow/bark/blog: advice, humor, and fun for cat and dog owners.
If you’re anything like me, pets make your family complete. They make you laugh, cry, and pull your hair out, and you love them through it all. meow/bark/blog celebrates pets and the role they play in our lives.
And in my life, they’re pretty much everything. Which makes sense, since they both outnumber us and outweigh me. When my husband, Jesse, and I started out with one cat in 2003, we never dreamed we’d be up to two cats (and did I mention that we might be adopting one of our neighbor’s kittens?) and three dogs in less than 4 years. But here we are. And here they are:
- Zoe, a 4-year-old Lynx point Siamese who pretty much hates us for no apparent reason
- Isabel, a 2-year-old tuxedo cat who’s as dumb as a box of rocks and the sweetest thing you’ve ever seen
- Pickles, a 1-year-old fawn pug who thinks she’s a German shepherd
- Ty, a 2-year-old red bullmastiff who loves stuffed animals and snores like a chainsaw
- Murphy, a 6-month-old English mastiff who falls down constantly (though how can you blame him, considering that he’s basically doubled in size every month of his life)
Join the fun — and believe me, our house is full of it with these characters. We still haven’t figured out what we were thinking getting all these animals, but we’re sure glad we did it.
